Building for the Future Initiative
Generation for Rights Over the World (GROW) has been selected to be part of their Round 2 grant cycle (November 2024 – October 2025) of the On Think Tanks (OTT) ‘Building For the Future Initiative’ project, with support from the Open Society Foundations.
The Building for the Future Initiative aims to strengthen student-led think tanks and enrich and broaden the perspectives that inform public policy recommendations. With support from the Open Society Foundations, OTT offers grants to selected student-led think tanks to strengthen their leadership capabilities and promote new perspectives on local and regional policy issues and policy research questions.
The grant agreement includes :
- A grant of $3,500 to organise 3 multi-regional events (online or remote), related to our research themes;
- Participation of a GROW member in the School for Thinktankers from 3 to 7 February 2025;
- Full funding for one GROW member to attend the OTT Conference 2025 – Think tanks and Impact, to be held in Johannesburg from 16 to 18 June 2025.
This initiative is an important step for us and will help us to strengthen our leadership capabilities; broaden the diversity of views that shape policy recommendations; promote new approaches to local and regional policy challenges.
